Comm alumna Kelly Lanser named to Cincinnati Business Courier Forty under 40 list

Kelly Lanser, a proud double alumna of the Communication program at the University of Cincinnati, has been recognized on the Cincinnati Business Courier's 40 Under 40 list. A Cincinnati native, Kelly initially began her academic journey at The Ohio State University but made the decision to transfer to UC after discovering the university's new public relations certificate during a campus visit over break. A pivotal conversation with Dr. Maribeth Metzler solidified her choice.
As the Director of Communications & Strategic Initiatives at Findlay Market for the past decade, Kelly's professional trajectory has evolved from her initial role in special events and promotions. She now oversees all aspects of communication, marketing, public relations, guest relations, and social media for Findlay Market. Kelly attributes her success to the internships and opportunities she secured through the Communication program, fostering a passion for non-profit work and purpose-driven endeavors.
Kelly emphasizes the role of the communication program in shaping her career path. Through classes, clubs, and internships, she gained insights into various facets of communication, including sports communication, volunteer work, and non-profit engagements during her time at UC. Kelly expresses gratitude to Dr. Metzler for mentoring her and providing new avenues for learning. Additionally, she highlights the impact of a graduate school project with Dr. Stephen Depoe, acknowledging his guidance in understanding the importance of tone and messaging.
