Being a Senior During COVID-19

I don’t think anyone could have prepared me for my senior year to be done entirely online. Being a student during COVID-19 has definitely presented its challenges, but at the same time makes me feel so grateful for the education I am receiving.

When I came to college, Communication was never on my radar. But once I found my passion here, I have been so motivated to work hard that not even a pandemic can stop me. Doing schooling online has opened the door to connections outside of Cincinnati that I would not get the opportunity to have otherwise. We are able to connect to people from all over the world right from our living rooms! I currently intern for my hometown theatre while still living and going to school in Cincinnati. This is something that is very special and exciting to me which without COVID would not even be an option.

I am sad that I am missing out on so many “lasts” of being a Bearcat, but I am certainly soaking up the moments and experiences I am having. I am so fully supported by UC faculty, my friends and family, it is kind of hard to look on the bad side of things, and for that I am so incredibly grateful. I look forward to when the world returns to its new normal but will also find joy in looking back at all the memories I have made here at UC.
